Hi,
I'm hoping to hear from Web managers/programmers who have implemented
the Usablenet Assistive software (http://www.usablenet.com/)to provide
text-only link access on their Web sites. The sales rep reports that
their product can be used to access and search library databases,
courseware, portal software, etc., so I'm particularly interested in
hearing from institutions that use the product to access these services.
Do users have access to the full range of database search
capabilities? Any issues with course software such as Blackboard
Courseinfo or portal software such as SCT Luminus? Some other questions
include:
-- did you choose the local or off-site hosted option? Why?
-- do you experience any significant performance issues or downtime?
-- user feedback
-- product's ability to translate graphical Web content into text-only
format, any problems that Usablenet was unable to fix/resolve?
Please respond to sek2 at lehigh.edu, and I'll summarize for the list if
there is interest...
Thanks!
