Subject: [Web4lib] Moving to a New Job!
Starting August 1, I will be working at Tompkins-Cortland Community
College Library <http://www.tc3.edu/library/> in Dryden, NY. It is five
miles from where I live, not the 45 miles I now drive one way. I will
miss Morrisville State College and the many people I got to know here
over the last 22 years. I need a change and I especially need a shorter
commute. I will get back two hours in my day! My duties here at
Morrisville are being assumed by another librarian so please do not ask
me when my current job will be posted. My last day at Morrisville will
be July 31.
Here is my new job description:
Primary responsibilities include local administration of automated
library management system (Ex Libris Aleph) in a shared management
environment with SUNY system staff, including overall coordination of
automation activities involving the various Aleph modules as well as
associated systems and functions. Working closely with the Library
Technical Specialist, the Systems Librarian assumes general oversight of
Library technical services functions including cataloging, maintenance
of bibliographic database, acquisitions, processing, and collection
management. The Technical Services Librarian also provides technical and
administrative management of electronic resources including all
contracted database systems. This individual is also assigned limited
duty at the reference desk.
