The Kreitzberg Library at Norwich University seeks an energetic,
service-oriented librarian to join the library team in developing and
providing electronic services and collections for on-campus and online
programs.



*Position Description:  *The Electronic Resources Librarian coordinates all
processing activities associated with electronic resources, ensures
continued access to electronic resources, and works with faculty and
Kreitzberg Library staff and departments to develop library electronic
collections.  The librarian lectures in the Library's information literacy
curriculum, contributes to Library's Web site, and provides reference
service, which may include some evening and weekend hours.  Also serves as a
member of the library faculty and liaison program, plus other duties as
assigned.



*Qualifications:*

   - *Required Qualifications*



o       ALA-accredited master's degree in library or information science

o       Knowledge of trends in scholarly journal publishing, including
copyright and intellectual property

o       Knowledge of current and emerging technologies in digital and
Web-based library services

o       Knowledge of issues concerning access to digital resources as well
as tools that are used to provide improved access (OpenURL resolvers,
federated search, etc.)

o       Knowledge of HTML and CSS

o       Ability to speak and write knowledgeably and effectively

o       Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and to work
cooperatively with others

o       Excellent organizational and time management skills



   - *Preferred Qualifications*



o       Demonstrated experience in the management of purchased and/or
licensed electronic resources within an academic setting

o       Experience working with publishers and vendors of electronic
resources, with diagnosing access problems, and with a proprietary
electronic resources management system

o       Experience providing reference assistance and bibliographic
instruction

o       Experience with server administration (EZproxy), database and
scripting languages



*Salary:*  Minimum salary of $42,000, commensurate with qualifications and
experience. This is a faculty rank, non-tenure track, appointment
commensurate with academic achievements.  Compensation includes a benefits
package of medical, dental, group life and long term disability insurance,
flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care, a retirement
annuity plan, and tuition scholarships for eligible employees and their
family members.

**Norwich University enrolls a civilian and military student body of 3,100
FTEs in undergraduate, professional and graduate programs.  Most of the
graduate programs are offered exclusively in an online environment.  The
library is a beautifully designed, fourteen year old facility with six
floors.  It contains more than 175,000 volumes and receives nearly 28,000
periodical titles in print or electronic formats.  The library is part of a
statewide library network and participates in several consortia.


Northfield, a New England village with population of 5,800, was founded in
1781, and is ten miles south of Montpelier, the Vermont state capital.   It
is 150 miles north of Boston and 100 miles south of Montreal.
