What is actually being tried that is different? Saying that
it works without defining goals does not mean anything to me. What is
working? Saying that there are faults with Dewey also does not
mean anything to me. I see Dewey as work in progress.
I could put up a 24,000 sf new library with Dewey or LC
and with a good sign system and displays achieve the
same results. People would flock in because it is new and
check out new books and enjoy new chairs and a clean building
and a good staff. Attributing those results to a bookstore
management method does not equate.
