Dear colleagues,
I am working on a conference paper about "librarians as webmasters."
Your input to the short survey below will be much appreciated.
Please note that this survey is not exclusive of library webmasters. It is interested in "librarians as webmasters" in any settings, not specifically libraries.
1. when did you graduate of the library school?
2. how long you work as a webmaster? Was it your first job after graduation?
3. how did you meet the requirements of this position? Coursework at library school or somewhere else? Training?
2. during your school, what courses helped you much in your webmaster position?
3. in the job, do you have to go for any further training to improve your webmastering skills?
4. what are the minimum requirements of coursework/training needed for "entry level" webmaster positions?
5. if you no longer work as a webmaster, why did you change your job?
6. in a library settings, how do "librarians" compare to other professionals as webmasters? Preferred/not preferred? Welcomed/not welcomed? Why? Why not?
7. would you like to add any more thoughts?
Thank you in advance! Please reply off-list to info at aks4lis.net. I will summarize the results to the list. If you need a copy of my paper, please let me know. Thank you all for your help!
