ALEXANDRIA LIBRARY
PART-TIME CUSTOMER SUPPORT ENGINEER II
20 HOURS PER WEEK
Open until filled
DUTIES:
DAILY- ?Provides customer support by responding to user problems
such as diagnosing difficult
PC/telecommunications hardware and software problems
?Provides technical assistance regarding hardware and
software problems to staff and public
?Installs hardware and software on staff and public computers
?Provides help or training to staff on PC-related
problems, including software applications
MONTHLY- ?Initiates reports for Administration
?Updates URLs on desktops when needed
OTHER- ?Provides on-site support to branches as needed
?Other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE: Somewhat flexible but must meet the needs of the library
and includes 2 weekday
evenings as well as 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m.
on Sunday.
SALARY $20.372 - $22.460 per hour, depending on qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
?Completion of college level courses in data
processing, mathematics and business; or any equivalent
combination of experience and training which provides
the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
?Ability to communicate clearly and effectively,
both orally & in writing
?Knowledge of Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 2003 Server
?Knowledge of Domain Controller
?Familiarity with LINUX preferred
?Understanding of principles of LANS, WANS, &
Internet preferred
?Must have means of transportation and be willing to
travel to branches as needed
?Must have knowledge of PC hardware and be able to
perform basic maintenance
