You might also want to check out
A Gentle Introduction to SQL (http://sqlzoo.net/)

It has some good basic cookbook-style SQL recipes.  It includes recipes 
for SQL Server, MySQL, SQLite, DB2, Access, Postgres, Oracle, Sybase, 
and Mimer.
