[Web4lib] Lack of discussion of Google CSE and Libraries

I originally posted this on my blog yesterday but I thought I might get
some discussion here.

I have been disappointed in the lack of posts from the most prolific
library bloggers on the topic of Google Custom Search Engines. In my
own opinion it is the most important development at Google since Google
went live. Searching for the phrase "Google Custom Search " on LISZEN
gets me 58 pages listed in the results
<http://liszen.com/index.html?cx=007111056751095715160%3A3qdthmlca-m&q=%
22google+custom+search%22&sa=Search&cof=FORID%3A9> . The articles are
not from many of the big names in library tech blogging. Some you might
recognize are David Rothman <http://davidrothman.net/> , OA Librarian
<http://oalibrarian.blogspot.com/2006/10/cool-new-search-tool-for-oa-new
s.html> , and Christina's LIS Rant
<http://christinaslibraryrant.blogspot.com/2006/10/google-custom-search.
html> . I am disappointed that ALA Tech Source nor any of the people at
Library Journal have not reported on it. I can also think of several
other bloggers that should be covering this but are not.
