[Web4lib] IE 7 search providers/search menu

Hi,

IE 7 allows users to add their own search providers to its search toolbar/menu. We've added and tested a number of library databases w/this feature -- quite a number of them work  -- and we'd like to prepopulate a selection of library databases in the IE 7 search  menu on our public computing lab image and faculty/staff image. Microsoft provides a mechanism for populating search providers via the registry. Has anyone tried this feature or considered using it? Has anyone tested FireFox 2's search engine manager (hoping it does something similar)?
