Dear Sue:

Also, as a government body, it is required to be 508 standards compliant
(not that many government sites are, but it is a law).  You can find a guide
to the 508 standards at http://www.access-board.gov/508.htm and a general
web site here http://www.section508.gov/.  Just in case you aren't familiar,
508 standards are for accessibility purposes, stating that all federal
agencies must provide access to digital information to those with
disabilities.

Otherwise, a lot of awards go out for general web design, but none for
library web design as I know of.  Sounds like something LITA or IMLS should
do though. ;-)  Good luck with your redesign!
