Don't know how widely it's used but BrowserCam (http://www.browsercam.com) 
does somthing similar for a subscription fee.  Maybe this is old news. 
We use it here.  You can choose from a variety of OS's, browsers, and 
browser versions, choose one or more resolutions, and in a few moments 
their servers return images of how your screens are drawn in the OS's and 
browsers.
