[Web4lib] Google Search Application

While in my previous job at Taylor University (www.taylor.edu), GSA
was purchased and installed for searching across all
publicly-accessible webpages managed by Taylor. My staff had been
using an open source indexing/search app called Perlfect to provide
library webspace-specific searching but we decided to switch to using
Google given users' familiarity with Google. Prior to this we had
developed our own content management system based on PHP and MS
SQLServer which made most of the libraries' (there were two separate
library web spaces, one for each campus library) pages
database-driven. GSA handled this situation with no problem. I'm not
sure if/whether this is the same thing as the query feature you
mention. We developed our own electronic resource management system,
too (also built with PHP and MS SQLServer), but didn't attempt to tie
that into GSA, at least, not before I left Taylor.

The GSA search box is viewable at
http://www2.taylor.edu/library/upland/index.php?page_id=150.
