Regent University Library, Reference Librarian (Web Development)
RUL is seeking a library faculty member to serve as reference librarian,
library liaison to the School of Communication and the Arts; and coordinator
of digital services.
Duties: providing reference assistance in person and online; managing 24/7
reference service; providing individual library research consultations to
students and faculty; developing knowledge of new and usable print and
electronic reference sources; developing online instructional materials and
providing online subject-specific resource information; selecting, ordering,
and reviewing new library resources in subject area; maintaining the library
resource budget for these materials; assisting in writing grant proposals
for digital projects; training and supporting library faculty in the
development of online resources and digital projects.
Required: ALA Accredited MLS; expertise in emerging information technologies
and their application to reference and instruction services; demonstrated
knowledge and experience in the use and administration of digital resources
and services; demonstrated web development skills; familiarity with print
and electronic resources related to our academic programs; ability to
communicate effectively; creativity and initiative with online projects;
ability to work well on teams as both member and leader; willingness to
actively research and publish in the field of academic librarianship.
Preferred: Academic library reference and teaching experience; experience
managing 24/7 reference programs.
