JOB AD:  Information Literacy Librarian 

 

New Jersey Institute of Technology

 

Description:  Reports to the Director of Reference and works with and on
empowered teams in sharing assignments and duties. This highly visible
position has primary responsibility for implementation of the
information literacy program through teaching and creation of advanced
interactive web-based self-learning (and curriculum based) information
literacy tools; working closely with the reference librarians and
university faculty, teaching, promoting, coordinating, and evaluating
information literacy at NJIT, monitoring professional trends and
developments, recommending new and improved services, and satisfying
student, faculty, information training needs. Leads, works cooperatively
with, and contributes to NJIT compliance with Middle States Association
of Colleges and Schools information literacy guidelines and efforts as
well as within VALE, and other state, regional and national groups.
Provides standard reference desk duties, orientations, and tours, and
related activities and duties.  May include occasional evenings and two
weekends per year.
