Hi Bill
I organised a day's event on collaborative technologies last November,
in which delegates could make use of IM, Wikis (Wikalong), Blogs and Skype.
One thing we did was to have an Acceptable Use Policy for the event
- see:
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/workshops/ucisa-wlf-2004-11/aup
There do appear to be cultural differences regarding use of WiFi
technologies at events - in some of the international events we're
organised recently delegates from North America have expected such
networks to be available, but those from Europe have expressed concerns
that such technologies may be disruptive.
Reports on the event, transcripts of the IM chats, Wiki sessions and
links to Blog reports are available from:
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/workshops/ucisa-wlf-2004-11/
Something I noticed was the differences between the Blog written
continually during the event and the two written afterwards.

Hope this is of use.

Brian
