A question about application of Blog in Libray field

Dear all,

I am a college student who studies in Library & Information Science.  
Recently,
I get interested in the application of Blog in different areas. And I 
found  there are some Blog also involve in this area.  So I am 
wondering what the common or special applications of Blog in Library 
field are.  If anybody has something to share with me, that will be a 
big help to me and I will very appreciate that.
