(apologies for cross-posting and also hoping this is sufficiently relevant:)
Im trying to help someone whose hard drive crashed. We bought a new drive
and reinstalled everything, but XP insists that reactivation is needed since
it is now being installed on a different machine (duh!)
Ive googled, etc., and found some information on playing around with
registry entries, and some other suggestions about meddling with files named
WPA.DBL and WPA.BAK. However I was hoping someone might have a simpler/more
elegant/less risky solution to suggest. I would go a long way to avoid
having to get on the phone to Microsoft I really dont want to spend a
whole day on this!
TIA for any assistance.
Robin.
