Systems/Web Services Librarian: Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) 
seeks a librarian to provide web services and manage library systems 
including Windows network administration and remote access to 
consortium-based  Endeavor Voyager.  Tenure-track position, reports to the 
Library Director.
Responsibilities: Plans, implements and maintains local library automation 
systems and their links to campus and external electronic networks and 
information resources.  Installs hardware and software, performs routine 
operations, recommends automation budget, manages the library website, 
serves as a technical contact for internal and external automation 
organizations and reports on automation activity.  Supervises two student 
employees.  Participates in library and University governance.
Required Qualifications: ALA-MLS or equivalent.  Minimum of two years 
library automation  systems experience with windows server and LAN 
administration and in design, development and management of web sites. Good 
communication and collaboration skills.  Knowledge of current trends and 
issues in library systems and networked information resources.  Ability to 
assess library information technology needs and plan, implement and 
maintain solutions.  Ability to install and maintain PC hardware and software.
Preferred Qualifications: Coursework or certification in computer science 
or information systems. Academic library experience with Voyager library 
system.  Working knowledge of database systems (e.g., MS Access) and 
scripting languages (e.g., ASP).
Salary and Benefits: Depending on experience and qualifications, $40,000 to 
$44,375 for 12- month contract.  Benefits: choice of retirement programs; 
State vacation and holidays; health insurance program.
