Peter:
We installed v.7 when it first came out, and did have problems with some
pdf's not opening in Ebsco's Academic Search Premier. When it happened
it would freeze the machine so thorougly that we would have to manually
power off, and then back on. I don't know if it was because of DRM or
something else. We decided to go back to v.6 on all of our public
machines, because it successfully opened documents that were known
problems with v.7.
I hope this helps.

Subject: [Web4lib] Acrobat Reader v.7 and DRM
We are considering upgrading Acrobat Reader on our library's public
computers from v.6 to v.7, but we are concerned about any access
permissions problems that the DRM ("Digital Rights Management")
capabilities of v.7 might have on our computer users when they try to
access subscription databases through the Web.
Have any of your libraries installed Acrobat Reader v.7 and had more
problems with DRM than with v. 6?
Thanks,
Peter
