NCSU Libraries Fellows, 2005 - 2007
The NCSU Libraries Fellows Program, focused on developing future leaders
in science, engineering, digital librarianship, and library management
and administration, offers a unique opportunity to a select group of MLS
and MIS graduates who have received degrees December 2004 or later.
NCSU Libraries Fellows have the opportunity to launch their careers in a
leading research library, where librarians experience the rewards of
working with a diverse clientele, including faculty and students in
nationally ranked academic programs. The Fellows program offers the
opportunity for rapid professional growth through assignment to an
innovative project, combined with experience and mentoring in a
department. Fellows are appointed to the rank of librarian for a
two-year term.
Qualifications: The Libraries seeks a diverse pool of applicants with
ALA-accredited M.L.S. or M.I.S. degrees received December 2004 or later.
Required: demonstrated potential to develop expertise in science,
engineering, or digital librarianship or in management and
administration of libraries. Evidence of leadership potential including
excellent interpersonal skills while working in a highly interactive
team environment; excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the educational
mission of a research university and its role in valuing and nurturing
demographic and intellectual diversity. Internship or practicum in
research-oriented environment is desirable.

Salary: $45,000 per year for the two-year term plus benefits package.
Professional development stipend, up to $2,500 annually. Relocation
allowance.
