(apologies for duplication -- we're looking for very wide distribution
on this...)

Many of you may know that the American Library Association is looking
to develop an online communities system that would enable and enhance
online collaboration and communication among member groups. To that
end, a task force of ALA staff, with input from a variety of member
groups, has developed the attached request for proposals.

I am sending you this RFP in the hope that you will pass it along to
online community software developers and/or consultants who would be
interested in responding. We will consider all comers, including open
source solutions.

If you do send the RFP on to someone who might respond, please drop me
a line letting me know, so we can try to avoid bombarding the same
individuals and companies multiple times.

Thanks for reading. Please let me know if you have questions.
