 I use Paros (http://www.proofsecure.com/index.shtml), a nifty desktop
proxy: you start it up and then configure your browser to use localhost:8080
as its proxy server. In the Paros window you can see the http headers and
content going up and down; and you can choose to trap the requests and/or
responses and edit them before they get passed on. A tremendously useful
tool for diagnosing odd web behaviour. It's Java and should run on any
platform, but I've only tried it on Windows.

Subject: [WEB4LIB] seeking browser with command console that will accept
HTTP commands

Hi,

I am seeking a browser with a command interface where I can type HTTP
commands such as GET, POST, PUT, TRACE, HEAD and OPTIONS and view the
response from the server as plain text. Does such a program exist?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards
John
