This is, of course, assuming that your sysadmin has not disabled the use
of .htaccess files because - since most people don't know Jack
-you-know- about these things they are likely to mess things up or
create a data security problem.

You want the ErrorDocument directive for Apache which can be set in the
server config file per directory or virtual host or can be set that
.htaccess. The documentation is at
