FP extensions/security

Does anyone know if FrontPage extensions are still considered a security
problem, or have they developed enough that it's safe to run them on a
properly administered server?

One of our libraries is considering migrating their web from NT4 to Linux,
but would still like to have FP extensions loaded. Is this advisable?
