Table centering in XHTML

Thanks to all who responded to my problem with table centering in XHTML 1.0
Strict.  For those who suggested using <div align="center">, it works but has
the same validation problem under 1.0 Strict as <table>.

Thomas Dowling's method of setting width and margin percentages looks to be the
most reliable.  The allmyfaqs site was very interesting, too.
