The Cleveland State University Library welcomes applications for a Systems
Librarian -
Reporting to the Head, Library Systems Division, the Systems Librarian
provides technical support for the library's instruction program; works with
librarians to develop informational and instructional web sites; manages
innovative interfaces integrated library system; provides technical support
for automated library systems; provides technical support for systems
interfaces; coordinates implementation of assigned library systems projects;
assists in troubleshooting technology problems; contributes to library
decision making; engages in scholarly, professional and service activities.
QUALIFICATIONS- MINIMUM: Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent
degree from an ALA accredited library school; excellent interpersonal,
written and verbal communication skills; flexibility and ability to work
collaboratively in a diverse environment; experience managing and
troubleshooting current technologies, such as integrated library systems
(i.e., Innovative, Endeavor, or Dynix, etc.), computer operating systems
(i.e., Windows, Windows NT, Win98, Linux or Unix), database software (i.e.,
MS SQL server, My SQL or Oracle); experience with scripting and html;
demonstrated ability to learn new and emerging technologies, such as Windows
XP or XML; flexibility and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse
environment.
PREFERRED: Work experience in project management, relevant work experience
in libraries.
