I'm having a really interesting cross-blog conversation with Jon Udell, a columnist at InfoWorld and all-around tech guy. The result (so far) is a Javascript library bookmarklet for 900 Innovative libraries that looks up a book's status from any web page that has an ISBN in the URL (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, ISBN.nu, etc.). You just drag the bookmarklet for your library onto your browser's toolbar, and click on it when you're on any such page. It's pretty amazing. You can follow the discussion, and if you're an Innovative library grab your bookmarklet, from the following URLs:

Others (http://www.freelancepropaganda.com/2002_12_01_freeproparchive2.html, http://www.windley.com/2002/12/11.html#a323), including Michael Pate (http://www.libraryplanet.com/archives/2002/12/11/index.html#librarylookup), are also getting in on this. This is pretty exciting stuff - can we take this to another level?
