What a wonderful way to introduce a book that all of us androids should
be reading: "Getting Libraries the Credit They Deserve: A Festschrift in
Honor of Marvin H. Scilken," by Loriene Roy and Antony Cherian.  My
favorite section is a chapter called Scilken Aphorisms, where Roy
gathers over 300 quotes from my all-time favorite librarian, a
consummately untechnical person whose insights should inform all we do
in library technology.

Scilken Aphorism #281: "I get the feeling from time to time that many
public libraries are run for the inconvenience of their patrons."
