css link colors on linked image borders

When I set link colors with css, they work for all links except the borders
on images that are links.  I don't want to set an image border with a
color, because Netscape 4.x doesn't put css borders around images properly.  

Maybe I am missing something obvious, but does anyone know how to make the
borders on image links conform to the colors you want to set for links?  I
couldn't think of a context selector that would do this.  Any advice would
be appreciated.
