I think "set spantree portfast 2/1-12 disanable" will do it 2/1-12 are the
port numbers. Check http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/12.html#timing5k.

Good luck

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Cisco switch question

We have a switch that was installed as part of the renovations for our
reference area. The people who installed it left it as it 'plug and
played' . We are having some issues with changing the configuration. Can
anyone out there help with the following?

Isabel

All ports of the 3548 have been set to
<spanning-tree portfast> using the CLI procedure...

switch#config t
switch(config)#int fa0/48
switch(config-if)#spanning-tree portfast
switch(config)#^Z

What is the simplest way to disable this portfast?
Both the manual and the website suggest BPDU procedures involving global
parameters and settings. Is there some local CLI procedure like above to
disable portfast on this one port?

The last configuration saved to non-volatile has one non-portfast port.
I could restart the switch and change the patch panel punches as a last
resort.
