It's one of those things where you'll need a lot of help up front,
unless you're a pretty skilled network or systems administrator.
But once it's set up, you shouldn't have much to worry about.
Just FYI, it's not as if net boots are difficult or slow for Linux.
The kernel can be built very small. I believe the size of the LTSP
project kernel is 400k (on a slow 10 megabit/second network, this
means it can be fetched in (quick calculation...) about a third of
a second.
At that speed, you could put in wireless base stations and boot off
the air waves :-).
There are some very neat things you could do here for relatively
little money.
