One good candidate might be Rootsweb, which offers up 
thousands of pages of free genealogy information contributed by 
volunteers all over the world, and also offers free unlimited web 
space to just about anyone. By offering free web space they are in 
some ways like Geocities, etc., but because it is almost all relative 
to genealogy and most of it is linked and/or searchable from a 
central location, it can in some respects be considered one big 
single website.
