WEB MANAGER AND INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN LIBRARIAN

Full-time, tenure track, faculty position.  Reports to Associate Dean of
Library Services.  Rank and salary commensurate with credentials and
experience.  Minimum annual salary = $37,434 (Instructor); $43,007
(Assistant Professor). Comprehensive benefits including TIAA/CREF.

Duties:  Works with library faculty and staff to articulate a vision for
the library Web sites.  Translates that vision into realistic goals,
policies, and procedures.  Provides ongoing management for the library’s
Web sites.  Works with Web Committee and Information Technology
Department on such matters as site design, structure and architecture.
Provides instructional design support for librarians.  Stays informed of
trends in web technologies, instructional technology and design.  Works
with Library Instruction Coordinator to integrate instructional
technology into library instruction program.  Participates in library
and university committees and professional associations.  A record of
research, scholarship, and/or creative work is required for tenure.

Required:  ALA-accredited MLS or international equivalent; knowledge of
overall library operations; knowledge of Web environment and technical
elements; experience in Web site management and site architecture;
demonstrated knowledge and evidence of creative applications of
innovative technologies for teaching and learning; demonstrated skill in
the use of web authoring tools, scripting, and mark-up languages; strong
inter-personal skills; strong organizational skills; excellent written
and oral communication skills.

Preferred:  Second graduate degree is preferred and required for
tenure.  Applicants with a second graduate degree will be considered for
the rank of Assistant Professor.  Experience in design, development, and
implementation of instructional projects; experience in training others
to use instructional software and hardware.
