These are contract positions at:
IBMs T. J. Watson Research Center at Yorktown Heights, NY
Job Description:
Immediate opening for consultant librarians (2) with advanced training
in Library Science. Successful candidate will work in an advanced
research and development environment contracted to 6-month (estimated)
project in the worlds foremost science and technology research lab,
IBMs Thomas J. Watson Research Center, located in Westchester County,
NY
The contracted individuals will be engaged in a cutting edge project
developing new technology in a search engine-related field. This will
involve working with a small team of programmers and advanced level
librarians. Experience participation in this project will certainly
enhance ones resume.
Requirements for project-based Librarian positions:
* MS in Library Science or closely related discipline or BS plus 2 or
more years experience.
* At least 2 years working with web search engines i.e. Yahoo, Lycos,
Google, AltaVista, etc.
* A definite plus is any experience in constructing taxonomies or in
using advanced search technologies.
