W4L--
For those of you tracking the mozilla.org browser development, version 0.8
of the Mozilla browser was released last night.
<URL:http://www.mozilla.org/releases/>
If you haven't looked at Mozilla recently, this is a good release to
play with. It's definitely still beta-level code, but it has been
hammered on for a week or so to stabilize it, and to prevent ongoing
development from introducing new bugs. The 0.8 release has also stripped
out some debugging code, so it should theoretically run a little faster
than recent nighly builds.
Our benevolent listowner teases me a little about using Mozilla, correctly
pointing out that they've been at this for two years now with no real
product to show for their work. This version is a big step closer to a
finished browser, though--and much closer than Netscape 6.0/6.01.
