I'm personally skeptical of NLP in information retrieval, but I do 
maintain some links on the topic at

Also, the best general article I've read about it is by Susan Feldman 
at <http://www.onlineinc.com/onlinemag/OL1999/feldman5.html>.   She's 
at IDC these days and I'm sure very busy but may have some additional 
useful writings.
