The folks at Google claim they are trying to restore the search functionality we all appreciated at Deja.com. Here is an article on the subject:

It is a real shame when useful, popular functionality or content on the Web disappears without warning. This seems to be the predictable result when financial reality sets in on the dot coms. Let's hope Google comes through (and urge them to deliver!)

Subject: [WEB4LIB] usenet searching
I was wondering what people use for Usenet new searching. I had been using
www.deja.com, and was very happy with it. Unfortunately, Google recently
took it over and while I like Google for web searching, their display is
pretty ugly for Usenet searching. Has anyone found a good Usenet search
engine which has a compact display/good threaded display?
Thanks,
BillJ
