We tried Books 24x7 http://books24x7.com/ and it worked fairly well for us.
Is this comparable to ITKnowledge?  Have anyone else used this database?

A large number of the O'Reilly books are now part of netLibrary.  netLibrary
also contains SAMS and books published by Microsoft.  We make good use of
them here.
