There's a very interesting set of articles about open source in the
business enterprise from a corporate perspective in the new InfoWorld.
It's in the print Aug. 27/Sept. 3 issue, and available online at
http://www.infoworld.com/tc/opensource.html
Among other things they polled 40 CTOs to see where they were at with os
software. 65% use or plan to run os web server software - read Apache, I
reckon - and 63% use or plan to use an os server operating system - Linux.
I just did a search in the ABI/Inform business database from 1999 to the
present on "open source software" and got 384 hits--oooh, the suits are
noticing. "Please get out of the new one if you can't lend a hand for the
times they are a-changin..." --
