The session covered the image of the librarian in pop culture and literature. I didn't attend the session but my wife did and found it insightful and entertaining. The speaker was Alison Hall from Carleton University. Not sure if her slides are online but maybe she could be persuaded to share.

Bloody good! I forgot about BatGirl too. :) I think the original Book of Lists had a listing (Well what would you expect to find in a book of lists?) that laid out some famous librarians. Here's the list from the book (c) 1977 William Morrow and Company, Inc., New York:

1) Gottfried Von Leibniz
2) David Hume
3) Casanova (Giovanni Giacomo Casanova de Seingalt)
4) August Strindberg
5) Pope Pius XI (Achille Ambrogio Damiano Ratti)
6) Sam Walter Foss
7) Archibald MacLeish
8) Mao Tse Tung
9) J. Edgar Hoover
10) John Braine

Just a little trivia for your Monday morning, courtesy of your GWD. :)
