sorting tables in web pages

Our library recently exported an Excel table into an HTML document.  The 
table is now on our Web site, but doesn't contain any of the sorting 
functions that Excel has.  Does anyone know of a way that we can input a 
sorting mechanism into the table on our Web site?   Thanks.
