Jian
  Indiana Uni. Libraries asked:

Over the years, libraries have collected/licenced/purchased hundreds of
datbases, all with a different interface and search syntax.

Has anyone developed an interface similiar to meta-search engines that
can search groups of these databases simultaneously?

Jian--the Free Library of Philadelphia is exploring a product called WebFeat
that the vendor calls a translator, rather than a search engine. You can visit
them at www.webfeat.org for a demo. I'd love to hear if anyone has had any
experience with it! Elizabeth
