Major Responsibilities:
This individual will ensure that the following activities are being
performed:
* Develop and operate a business intelligence research capability, process
and service for IT
* Respond to custom, unique research requests for information around
technology and business trends with respect to technology
* Own and manage development of research deliverables (e.g. newsletters,
reports and bulletins) for IT
* Monitor research requests for opportunities to push similar research to
broader audiences
* Lead, coach, mentor the IT Community on business intelligence and research
skills
* Manage research contracts and 3rd party vendors for business intelligence
and information sources for IT (e.g. IDC, Gartner Group, Forrester, etc.) as
necessary
* Development and maintain relationships with other HP business intelligence
and research organizations to leverage contracts, sources, capabilities and
best practices (HP market research teams, HP Labs Library, HP Virtual
Libraries, Business Intelligence teams - e!now, CFR-IT, etc.) 

Secondary Responsibilities:
This individual may also perform the following activities:
* Participate and coordinate with the development of intranet/web content
management taxonomies, standards and policies for HP.
* Consult on the organization and management of content on the HP IT
employee portal, i.e. specify how users will find information in the portal
by ensuring appropriate organization, navigation, and labeling is applied to
published Web information.
* Participate in the effort to determine the portal content and
functionality.
* May also be required to work closely with the architecture team members of
the Intranet Web Strategy Team.

Musts:   
MLS or MLIS with 3+ years experience with Library Science services or
related projects
Knowledge of industry sources and evolving technologies
Ability to interpret market trends and spot IT opportunities
Excellent written and verbal communication and persuasive skills  
Must be a team player, organized and delivery oriented
Must be self-motivated, and able to work effectively with ambiguity and an
ever-changing environment   

Desired:   
Internet and high-tech industry experience.
