POSITION TITLE: Web Programmer (B00723)

Information and Library Services

CATEGORY: Exempt, Regular, Full-time, Grade 7

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provides systems management support including access control, database
updates, Web design, coding, and maintenance and administration, Web to
database  integration and secondary telephone and email support for 
staff, students, and faculty. Tasks may also include hardware/software
installation, configuration, performance monitoring and tuning,
troubleshooting, security, and documentation. In addition you may also
be involved with engineering and operations of the systems, network, and
database infrastructure, including evaluation and implementation of
high-availability solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

BA/BS degree, preferably in a computer or information science related
field and a minimum of two years experience with Web design and advance
Web programming required. Thorough knowledge of hardware and software
concepts, and experience in relational database design, Web and
information design principles, JavaScript, HTML, Perl, CGI programming
and other Web to database integration tools also required. Experience
with UNIX, Sun, Solaris, HP3000, Windows 9x/NT, OCLC SiteSearch, and
library background highly desirable. Must be capable of working
independently with strong problem-solving, planning, interpersonal, and
communication skills. Understanding of academic institutions and
libraries; knowledge of Web accessibility/usability norms and
guidelines; and familiarity with the content of proprietary electronic
resources helpful.

SALARY: $48,000 - $53,000	POSITION AVAILABLE: Immediately
