ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN  --   LONGWOOD COLLEGE

DUTIES:  Assume primary responsibilities for acquisition and cataloging
of electronic resources.  Serves as library liaison to one or more
academic departments, shares in collection development, participates in
reference services including night and week-end rotation, offers
bibliographic instruction, shares in training and supervision of student
assistants and part-time workers, and other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:  M.L.S. from ALA-accredited program.  Recent cataloging
experience or familiarity with AACR2 and USMARC format gained through
academic training.  Acquaintance with OCLC and automated library
system(s).   Ability to work effectively and congenially with public and
co-workers and to manage multiple priorities.  Excellent oral and
written communication skills.  

SALARY/BENEFITS INFORMATION:  Entry-level position.   Salary range,
$33,000 - $37,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  
12-month contract; non-tenure track faculty appointment.  Other benefits
include 24 days annual leave plus federal and state holidays;  960 hours
of sick leave;  state retirement program, TIAA-CREF, or other private
retirement program options;  major health insurance coverage provided by
employer;  other optional insurance programs;  liberal professional
development support.
