If you'd like an example of why the nascent eBook industry is probably
scared to death over what they see happening with Napster and MP3--and why
they will try to control how eBooks are loaded on output devices in a manner
that will preserve copyright--try connecting to Napster and searching some
popular author names...
...In less than 5 minutes, I found audio books by Stephen King, Michael
Crichton, Dean Koontz, Stephen Hawking, Arthur C. Clarke, Tony Hillerman,
Tom Clancy, Edwin Newman, and Clive Cussler--all being "shared" among
members of the Napster community.
