Overview

This hands-on workshop will cover small business research basics. 
Coverage will include start-up, financing, managing, growing and 
other information on the Internet.  Home-based business research and 
opportunities are explored.

Audience

This workshop is intended for people  who work in libraries, 
businesses or other organizations.  No business research experience 
is expected.

Participants should know how to use e-mail.  The Instructors will 
assist participants to use Netscape or Internet Explorer to 
participate in the real-time class and to interact with the Web-based 
materials.

Schedule

This workshop is scheduled live online July 18 and July 20, 2000 with 
a choice of meeting times:
  NOON-2:00 P.M. EDT or 3:00-5:00 P.M. EDT
                                                        or
Schedule Arrangements for other small groups (minimum of 5 people) 
may be made on an individual basis
by contacting the instructor.

Registration and Tuition

$75 - Class size is limited to 15 people per session (noon-2 or 3.5 EDT).
Arrangements for additional online live sessions will be made if 
there are additional registrations.

Materials

All materials will be online on interactive Web pages. Color printed 
packets will be priority mailed to each participant on receipt of 
payment or purchase order.

Mechanisms for Instruction

Participants will interact through e-mail
with the instructors before and after the workshops.

Participants will meet live online for overview, lectures and discussions.

Participants will complete hands-on Web-based activities at
their own pace between and after scheduled online live meeting with 
the guidance
and in consultation with the instructor.

Instructors will provide free training on using the Diversity 
University MOO facility for real-time
communication Participants will connect to http://www.du.org:8888 for
real-time instruction.   Logins and passwords will be provided on
request after registration.
