More on peculiar problem

Several people suggested using the IP numerical address 137.141.15.12
instead of the alphabetical address.
That did not work either.  I am also unable to ping or traceroute to that IP
from these two machines.  I can do it from other machines and from our VAX
mainframes.

Our computer people have not had a chance to get back to me yet.
