Database-backed Web Pages and More
Are you someone who is interested in Web resources and their
organization? Are you now (or have you ever considered) developing a
database-based solution to facilitate making Web resources available?
Are you just interested in getting together with other people involved
with Internet resources?
If you are and are also planning to be in San Antonio for ALA, you are
invited to attend a meeting of the Internet Resources Interest Group.
The meeting will be held on Sunday, January 16 in Salon M of the Mariott
Rivercenter from 2-5:30 p.m.
The meeting will begin with a brief introduction to developing
database-backed web sites (and will include instructions on how you can
do this yourself as well as source code you use at your own site). Our
hope is those of you who have done work in this area (or would like to
do so) could come and share your experiences, techniques, frustrations,
or whatever else you would like to add. If there is something in
particular you would like to talk about, please let me know.
There will be a computer with an Internet connections so that you can
share whatever work you may be doing (even if it is work in progress).
There will also be time for any other Web-related topics that you would
like to share.
After the discussion, the group will conduct it's business meeting where
plans for our Annual program in Chicago will be discussed. We would
welcome each of you to stay and provide input.
So, if you are free on Sunday afternoon and would enjoy talking about
Web-related issues, please come and join us!
We look forward to seeing you!
