This might be tied to printer drivers. I just took a couple of browsers
to www.cnn.com, with a 770-pixel wide table (boo, hiss!). On our Lexmark
printer, IE 5.5b printed it correctly in landscape, but printed a blank
page in portrait. On our old HP IIIsi, it did what Netscape 4.7 does:
printed it correctly in landscape, and printed it mostly correctly in
portrait, but with text cut off at the right margin ("Northern Irish
government awaits" - awaits what?).
Since we're not debating who's got the best browser, I won't say who was
consistently able to print the page correctly and completely. But as a
hint, its name starts with "O" and it ends with "pera".
